Villarreal club de Futbol, usually abbreviated to Villarreal CF or just Villarreal, is a Spanish football club based in Villarreal. The club was formed on the 10th March 1923 and plays its home matches at the Estadio de La Ceramica. The Estadio de la Ceramica has a capacity of 24,890. The current head head coach is Javier Calleja and the president is Fernando Roig.

Famous Player

Robert Pires, Premier League invincible, played for Villarreal between 2006 and 2010 making 103 appearances. Pires is well known for his role in the Arsenal invincibles squad in 2003/2004. Villarreal CF started the 2010s very well with a 4th place finish in La Liga in the 2010/2011 season. However it quickly turned sour, as Villarreal were relegated to the Segunda division at the conclusion of the 2011/2012 season.
