Laurent Blanc on Standby as Next Barca Boss

Well, according to Dario Sport, the France and Paris Saint-Germain boss, Laurent Blanc is on standby to become the next manager of Barcelona. The chatter is that his name is being mentioned more and more in the corridors of power up in Camp Nou. many reports suggest that Quique Setien will remain in charge for the club’s Champion’s League matches which are coming up in August.


Apparently there’s no definitive decision on whether he’ll be still in place at the Blaugrana beyond that date.

Next month,Milan will venture to the Catalan capital in the second leg of their round 16 tie. So far it’s posed as 1:1. Though the Spanish team are certainly down on the silverware department this season, they still have a pretty good chance of bring home some European trophies.

Blanc has considerable history with the club. In 1996/97 seasons he played for the Catalan club, making 38 appearances. As a manager, he won 4 League titles, one with Bordeaux and three with PSG. All in all, there are a total of 15 trophies sitting in his hallway, along with 3 Ligue 1 Manager of the Year Awards.
